A coffee shop where nothing is on the shelf by chance.
The European Coffees is a curated shop for coffee from independent roasters, with a subscription for people who would rather we chose. We are based in Poland, opening soon, and choosing our first roasters now.
Why this shop exists
Independent roasters make some of the best coffee you can buy, but each one sells from its own shop, so trying several means ordering from several places. The European Coffees puts their coffees side by side in one shop, so they are easy to compare and choose between.
If you would rather not choose, there is the subscription. You pick one of three taste styles, and every month we choose a coffee for you from all the roasters on the shop.
How we choose coffees and roasters
We taste every coffee
We taste each coffee ourselves before it goes on the shop. If we could not recommend it with a clear conscience, we do not list it.
We prefer roasters who are open about origin
Roasters who say plainly where their coffee comes from come first: the country, the region, and the farm or cooperative when they know it.
We describe every coffee in one plain language
The same words for taste, roast and origin on every coffee, whoever roasted it, so two coffees from different roasters can be compared at a glance.
How it works
For customers
You buy a roaster's coffee here, or subscribe and leave the choice to us. Each bag is posted with tracking by the roastery that roasted it, so you can follow it to your door.
For roasters
Roasters stay the seller. They sell their own bags at their own shop price and post each order themselves, with tracking. We hold no stock, and we never sell a roaster's coffee under our own name.
