Their story
Hafen roast for the middle of the cup — the sweetness and the caramel — and they are very good at it. If a coffee needs to work as filter in the morning and espresso after dinner, this is the roastery that can make both true of the same bag.
Hamburg has a long history of moving coffee and a shorter one of roasting it well, and the team at Hafen like the joke. They answer every email about a bag within a day, which is the other reason people stay.
Their house espresso has not changed in six years, by design.
